Information Regarding Waste

Waste, such as unused medicines are NOT accepted from patients or members of the public as the practice is not a licensed waste contractor. Patients are to be directed to community pharmacies. Practices sharing premises with producers employed by other organisations should be careful that others` waste is not mixed with theirs, as unknown hazardous content or incorrectly handled waste may be attributed to the practice and result in prosecution and significant fines.

The practice is now accepting sharps bins however when they are handed into the surgery they must be closed properly.

Please also be aware that we can only accept sharp bins on a Wednesday afternoon. All sharps bins are collected to be disposed of on a Thursday morning.

It is important that you write your house number and postcode on the sharps bin. Please also write the date you handed it into surgery.
